Summary: During an open forum event, UPMC leaders and stakeholders will explore best-practice lifestyle medicine initiatives and models utilized by other health systems which have been proven to decrease medical costs and improve outcomes for patients with chronic conditions. The goal of the forum is to spearhead UPMC’s transformation into a leader of cost-effective, efficient lifestyle medicine, while understanding the challenges that will be encountered during implementation.

The UPMC Center for High-Value Health Care translates the work of this unique payer-provider laboratory into evidence-based practice and policy change for improving health care quality and efficiency. Many Center activities are supported through grants and contracts and conducted in partnership with community organizations and government agencies.
