People Power in Public Health Infrastructure
Public health infrastructure provides the necessary foundation for all public health services—from addressing the social determinants of health affecting individual and community well-being to chronic disease prevention programs to emergency preparedness efforts. A strong public health infrastructure includes a capable and qualified workforce that can meet individuals where they are. By some estimates, the US public health workforce will need to grow by 80 percent to provide a minimum set of health services to individuals and communities.
