People Power in Public Health Infrastructure

Event Description

Public health infrastructure provides the necessary foundation for all public health services—from addressing the social determinants of health affecting individual and community well-being to chronic disease prevention programs to emergency preparedness efforts. A strong public health infrastructure includes a capable and qualified workforce that can meet individuals where they are. By some estimates, the US public health workforce will need to grow by 80 percent to provide a minimum set of health services to individuals and communities. This hour-long event will feature some of the innovative ways in which UPMC Insurance Services Division and collaborating community-based organizations are expanding Pittsburgh’s public health.
